Electronic Visa to Russia (e-Visa) 2026 — Eligibility and Application
The Russian electronic visa (e-Visa) is a simplified entry document available to citizens of 60+ eligible countries. Under the updated rules in force since 23 August 2025, it allows stays of up to 30 days (previously 16) for tourism, business, humanitarian purposes, or event attendance, and is valid for 120 days from the date of issue (previously 60).
E-Visa advantages: no invitation required, no consulate visit needed, application processed online within 4 calendar days. The consular fee is $40 (about $52 with payment processing); children under 6 are free.
Eligible entry points: selected airports (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, and others), seaports, and land border crossings. Not all checkpoints accept e-Visas — check the approved list before booking.
Application process: fill out the form on the official portal evisa.kdmid.ru no earlier than 120 days and no later than 4 days before your planned entry, upload a digital photo and passport scan, pay online, receive the e-Visa via email, print and present it at the border.
Limitations: single entry only, cannot be extended or converted to another visa type, maximum 30 days stay. Citizens of the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia are not eligible for the e-Visa and need a regular visa with an invitation.
For longer stays, multiple entries, or non-eligible nationalities, a traditional tourist or business visa with an invitation is recommended — we issue invitations online from $19 in 5 minutes.
