Russian Visa Requirements by Country — Overview

Visa requirements for Russia vary significantly depending on the applicant's nationality. Some countries have visa-free agreements, while others face stricter requirements.

Visa-free countries: citizens of certain CIS countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, etc.), and countries with bilateral agreements can enter Russia without a visa for limited periods.

E-Visa eligible countries: citizens of 64 countries can apply for a unified electronic visa for stays of up to 30 days. A processing fee applies; check the Russian MFA portal for the current amount, eligibility list and filing conditions.

Processing time, consular fee and any expedited option depend on citizenship, visa category and filing office. Check the current official tariff and instructions of the responsible consulate or visa centre before booking or paying.

Special cases: US citizens pay $160 for all visa types (reciprocal fee). UK citizens pay £50 for standard processing. EU citizens benefit from simplified visa agreements.

Regardless of nationality, all visa applicants need: a valid passport, visa invitation, completed application form, photo, and travel insurance.
