Russian Visa for British Citizens
British citizens need a regular Russian visa for ordinary tourist travel and are not eligible for the unified e-visa. Prepare a tourist confirmation from an organisation in Russia's federal tour-operator register, then apply in person through the current London or Edinburgh visa-centre route.

There are separate costs: the tourist confirmation service shown on this page, and the current visa-centre or consular charges. Check the selected official centre for the live government and service fees; do not rely on an older fixed total.
How long does the UK application take?
Plan the invitation, appointment and consular review as separate stages. Processing starts only after the receiving channel has the required file, and the consular office controls the decision. Confirm the current service level before booking non-refundable travel.
Do UK applicants need biometrics or an in-person appointment?
The current official UK visa-centre page says all applicants must apply in person and complete biometric submission. Confirm the current appointment procedure for London or Edinburgh before visiting.
Is medical insurance always mandatory for a British tourist applicant?
The current London reciprocity list does not name the United Kingdom. Requirements can still depend on the selected channel and individual circumstances, so use its live checklist instead of treating insurance as a blanket UK rule.

Use a current passport with at least two blank visa pages and validity extending at least six months beyond the planned departure from Russia.
Application form
Complete the official form at visa.kdmid.ru, print it and sign it before the appointment.
Photograph
Prepare the current 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph required by the official checklist.
Tourist confirmation
Use a Tourist Confirmation Voucher from a registered Russian tour operator. Check the traveller data, operator reference and trip dates before filing.
In-person filing and biometrics
Choose London or Edinburgh, then follow that centre's current appointment and biometric-submission instructions.
UK status for non-UK applicants
Applicants who are not British citizens should check the centre's current UK immigration-status evidence, including its GOV.UK share-code instructions.

For a regular tourist visa, obtain the voucher and confirmation using exactly the same passport and travel data.

Wait for the consular decision

Visa routes beyond tourism
Use a visa category that matches the actual purpose of travel. A tourist invitation cannot replace an employer, university, family or organization sponsor.
Business visa
A business visa requires the appropriate host or organization-sponsored documents. iVisa does not offer its business-invitation product for this citizenship.
Work, study and private visits
