A migration card is a mandatory document for all foreigners entering Russia (except citizens of EAEU countries). The card consists of two parts: Part A (entry) stays with border control, Part B (departure) stays with the foreigner for the entire duration of stay. The card contains: full name, citizenship, passport number, purpose of visit, entry and exit dates, hosting party. The migration card is required for: migration registration, visa extension, and work permit applications. If lost, you must contact the local GUVM MVD office for a duplicate. Since 2024, Russia has been testing an electronic migration card that can be filled out online before arrival.
