What the Russian tourist voucher must contain

For Indian citizens, the tourist voucher (tour-operator confirmation) is one of the documents the Consulate lists for a tourist visa. It must be issued by an authorised Russian tour operator or a classified hotel.

According to the Consulate, a tour-operator confirmation contains: a confirmation number; the number of entries; the traveler’s full name, date of birth, sex, citizenship and passport number; entry and exit dates; purpose of visit; itinerary and accommodation; the receiving organisation’s address and MVT/reference; and the issuer’s signature and seal.

  • Issued by an authorised Russian tour operator or a classified hotel
  • Shows entries plus entry/exit dates for your trip window
  • Includes itinerary and accommodation details
  • Lists the receiving organisation address and MVT/reference
  • Bears the issuer’s signature and seal

Voucher, visa form and passport: keep every field consistent

Obtain your tourist voucher before completing the online visa.kdmid.ru application so you can copy the details consistently. Then print and sign the visa application as required.

Check that the same spelling and numbers appear on all three: your passport, the voucher/confirmation and the visa application. If anything on the confirmation is wrong, ask the issuer to correct and reissue it before you file your application.

  • Get the voucher/confirmation first.
  • Complete visa.kdmid.ru using the voucher’s entries, dates, itinerary and receiving-organisation data.
  • Print and sign the application.
  • Compare name, passport number, DOB, sex and citizenship across all documents.
  • If anything differs, request a corrected voucher before submission.

Indian name specifics: initials or a single name

If your Indian passport shows initials or a single name, reproduce your name on the voucher and on the visa application exactly as printed on the passport’s biographical page. Keep the same spelling, order and punctuation.

If a letter, space or punctuation mark is wrong on the confirmation, ask the tour operator or hotel to correct and reissue it before you submit your application. Use the corrected version and keep the old version only for your records.

  • Match the passport spelling and order of names exactly.
  • Do not add, remove or rearrange initials or punctuation.
  • Check that the date of birth and citizenship on the voucher match the passport.
  • Verify the passport number carefully (similar-looking characters are common).
  • Request a reissued confirmation if any character is wrong; file only with the corrected one.

Entries, dates, itinerary and accommodation must align

Your confirmation shows the number of entries, entry and exit dates, and itinerary/accommodation. Enter the same choices and dates on the visa application.

If your itinerary or travel window changes before you apply, ask the issuer to update and reissue the confirmation. Keep the receiving organisation address and MVT/reference on your visa form exactly as shown on the voucher.

  • Confirm entries (single/double) match on both documents.
  • Match entry/exit dates exactly.
  • List the same cities and accommodation.
  • Copy the receiving organisation address and MVT/reference as shown.
  • Keep the visit purpose consistent.
